Getting Access & Signing In (Vigil Service)
The Vigil Service app is for contractors and technicians — the people assigned to do the work. Access is invite-only: a facility operator sends you an email invite, you tap a link, and you're in. There is no sign-up page.
Step 1 — Receive your invitation email
Your facility contact (the org admin at the company that hired you) sends an invite to your work email. The email comes from Vigil and contains a link.
If you haven't received one, ask your facility contact to send it. They follow the steps in Add a Service Provider.
Step 2 — Accept the invite
- Open the invite email on your phone.
- Tap the invite link. This opens the Vigil Service app (download it from the App Store / Google Play first if you haven't).
- The app shows your invite details — the organization name and your assigned role.
- Tap Send code. A one-time verification code is sent to your email.
- Enter the code in the app.
- Tap Verify and accept.
You are now signed in and your access is confirmed. You land on the app's main dashboard.
Step 3 — Navigate the app
After signing in you'll see three tabs:
| Tab | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Your current task and quick stats (To Do, Active, Done) |
| My Queue | Full list of all your assigned work orders |
| Profile | Your info, company details, app settings, sign out |
See Your Work Queue for how to find and manage your assigned jobs.
Signing back in
Vigil Service uses email verification (no password to remember). If you're signed out:
- Open the app.
- Enter your work email.
- Tap Send code.
- Enter the code from your email.
- You're back in.
If your invite link has expired
Invite links expire after a period. If the link doesn't work, ask your facility contact to resend the invite from Org Settings → Team → Pending → Resend.
Troubleshooting
"I can't see any work orders"
- Work orders are only visible when they've been specifically assigned to your service provider and your company has site access for that location.
- Ask your facility contact to confirm the work order is assigned to your company and that site access has been granted. See Add a Service Provider — Grant Site Access.
"The app says service providers use the Service app, not the web app"
- This is correct. SP Admin and SP Technician roles cannot use the Vigil web app. Vigil Service is the right app for you.
