Create an Issue (Mobile)

An Issue is a recorded problem. On mobile you can create one in about 60 seconds — tap the FAB, describe what you're seeing, take a photo, and submit.

Also available on web: Create an Issue (Web)

✅ An Asset (optional but recommended)Makes history and reporting much more usefulAsk your org admin or use the QR scanner to find the asset

Step-by-step

Issue creation is a 3-step wizard. A progress bar at the top shows Step N of 3. Use Back and Next to move between steps; the Next button is disabled until the current step's required fields are filled in.

1. Open the create form

Tap the blue + FAB → Create Issue.

(Or tap Issues in the drawer menu, then tap the create button in the top right.)

Step 1 of 3 — Issue source

You're asked to specify where the problem is. Pick the most specific option you can:

  • A specific asset — search by name or tag number, or tap the QR icon to scan the asset's code. This is the best option — it ties the issue to exact equipment history.
  • A space — tap a space button (e.g. Walk-in Cooler #1) if you know the area but not the specific unit.
  • Whole store — a toggle; use this only when the problem can't be attributed to a location.

Next stays disabled until you've chosen where the problem is (asset, space, or whole store).

Step 2 of 3 — Issue details

FieldRequiredNotes
Issue type✅ YesShort description, e.g. Temperature drift, Compressor not cycling
DescriptionNoMultiline — what you observed, when, how serious. Example: "RTU-3 making grinding sound since this morning."
Evidence photos✅ Min 1, max 5Tap Take photo (camera) or Library. Each thumbnail has a × to remove it.

The helper text below the photos reads: "An issue type and at least one photo are required." Next stays disabled until you've entered an issue type and added at least one photo.

Tip: Take a wide shot showing the equipment in context, then a close-up of the specific problem area.

Step 3 of 3 — Schedule & severity

Severity✅ YesLow / Medium / High / Critical (see table below)

A review line confirms where the issue is being filed: "Filing against: [Asset › Space]" or "Filing against: [Store]".

Tap Submit issue. The button shows a loading indicator while the photos upload and the issue is created.

On success you'll see a brief confirmation message and return to the Issues list, which now shows your new issue at the top with status Open.
